Biryani! Here's a simple recipe for delicious Pakistani-style biryani:



Ingredients:


- 1 cup basmati rice

- 1 lb lamb or chicken, cut into small pieces

- 2 medium onions, chopped

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon ginger paste

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon red chili powder

- Salt, to taste

- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil

- 2 cups water

- Fresh cilantro, for garnish


Instructions:


1. Prepare the rice: Rinse and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

2. Marinate the meat: Mix meat with yogurt, ginger paste, garlic, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Cook the meat: Heat oil in a pan and cook the marinated meat until it's tender. Set aside.

4. Layer the biryani: In a large pot, layer the cooked rice, meat, and fried onions.

5. Steam the biryani: Cover the pot with a tight lid and steam the biryani over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
