What is Mahendi?

The word Mehdi is derived from the Sanskrit word, Mehdi decorations became fashionable.it is also called henna.  Mahendi is the is necessary thing for the Muslim bridals. Without it’s a bridal or a girl in wedding seen incomplete. Mahendi color will be darkest because the skin contains higher levels of keratin which binds temporarily to Lawson, the colorant of henna. Henna was originally used as a form of decoration mainly for brides.

Now days, people buy readymade Mahendi cones, which are ready to use and make design. However, in rural areas, women grind fresh henna leaves on sill (grinding stone) with added oil, which though not as refined as professionally prepared Mahendi cones, brings much darker colors.
